Please join us for discussion and cocktails as we release our third annual Privacy Papers for Policy Makers Digest.
Each year, the Future of Privacy Forum invites privacy scholars and authors with an interest in privacy issues to submit papers to be considered for “Privacy Papers for Policy Makers.” The selected papers, which are chosen by our advisory board, are then compiled into our annual digest and circulated among policymakers, CPOs, regulators, advocates and on the Hill. Our purpose is to showcase papers that analyze current and emerging privacy issues and either propose achievable short-term solutions, or propose new means of analysis that could lead to solutions. This year’s papers cover a wide array of topics, including privacy by design, online behavioral advertising, mobile privacy, government surveillance, de-identification, and social networks.
The presentation of this year’s digest, focusing on each paper and the privacy issue it addresses, will begin at 4:00 pm on November 7th at the Microsoft Innovation and Policy Center (901 K Street, 11th Floor Washington DC, 20001).
We are please that Paul Ohm, Senior Policy Advisor for Consumer Protection at the Federal Trade Commission, will provide a policymaker response during the Privacy Papers For Policy Makers Digest presentation.
The program runs from 4 to 5:30, followed by cocktails.
